Options for calculating the host credit based on event sales
Posted by Bob Hinkle on 08 October 2005 04:49 PM

The amount of the
Host Credit shown on the Event Summary report is dependent on two options available via the Options button on the main Reports screen. These options were combined in earlier versions of the program but in all versions they essentially ask whether or not you want Discounts and Credits to be ignored (i.e. added back in) when determining what the Host Credit amount should be.

Explanation:
  • If the "Add back Discounts in determining Host Credit Due" box is checked then the program will ignore the effect of all Discounts in determining the Host Credit Due for that Event, effectively increasing the amount of the Host Credit Due.
  • If the "Add back Credits in determining Host Credit Due" box is checked then the program will ignore the effect of all Credits in determining the Host Credit Due for that Event, effectively increasing the amount of the Host Credit Due.

Note: These options were combined in earlier versions of the program. When using either option you will want to enter all event orders with the exception of the host's order. You can then run the Summary Report to determine Host Credit Due prior to entering the host's order. This will eliminate giving the host sales credit for their own host credit. However, if the host has ordered items above the value of their credit, you will want to enter those items prior to determining the Host Credit Due to ensure credit is earned on those items. Once the Host Credit Due is determined, you can then edit the host's order to add the credit items or simply add a second host order showing just the credit items.
